I've never been that close to lightning, but I have seen and heard transformers blow up in a hurricane-force windstorm and that was terrifying. I'm glad to hear that you're okay and that you got your power back in a reasonable time.

By the way, here's some interesting meta about Game of Thrones asking about the actresses and how they feel about acting out degrading scenes: Women and Horses, From the Horse's Mouth. The same blogger also wrote an interesting post about Season 2 of Game of Thrones. I don't agree with everything that she says, but I thought she had some interesting points.

I think that's what happened. We got hit with a localized mini-hurricane. And I'm glad that we got the power back as well.

And I think she's right about it being a soap opera. I'm also not entirely comfortably with the amount of female nudity in the show. A lot of it is gratuitous...the away that rape tends to become in the later books. I disagree that it only shows the problems of rich people, though. Thanks to Arya-in-disguise, the Night's ( ... )

I see Thor and Loki were having it out again last night in your area.

That is the first thing that I thought of. I even muttered, "Jeez, why did the two of you have to fight HERE?"

The storm had been over for an hour by then, but the second that I said that...there was a clap of thunder.

Probably a coincidence.

Probably.

Oh, wow! That is crazy and I'm so glad everything has calmed down and that you have electricity again.

I'm glad you stayed safe and that the power came back on! I hate severe weather. This time of year, we usually spend a few days/nights huddled in our basement.
