Oh FUCK.

Today I have been filling out ConnPACE, which is a plan which is supposed to be in place for prescription drug coverage. ConnPACE is ratherr silly and very annoying, as the main focus is income and disability. I am not going to suddenly become rich and non-disabled, but the program thinks I will ( Read more... )

Did they explain why they didn't bill you?

No. They claim that they've been sending the statements to this address, but I haven't been getting them. I suspect an incompetent mailman. Or one who is deliberately NOT delivering the mail.

I honestly thought that my supplemental insurance WAS my Part D. And I know that gets paid every month. It costs a third of my monthly income but it gets paid. Now I have another bill to pay on top of that. This isn't good. I'm barely getting by as it is.

I'd sell the house to pay the fucking bills, but I don't know where I'd live after I sold it.

Tomorrow, I'll come over and take that silk rug over to Kaoud Bros. and see if they want to buy it. I have to take Milo shopping first for jeans.

Okay. Thank you. I appreciate it.

Honestly, this news felt like a punch in the stomach. Wouldn't you think they'd say, "Where's my money?"

How the hell can a company forget to bill you, and not notice you're 600 bucks behind on payments?

No, seriously. HOW?

Cretins. You shouldn't have to pay that back.

They claim they've sent the bills. I have received nothing, so either they are lying through their teeth or the mailman has been deliberately NOT delivering the mail. I tend toward the latter.

If you really think the mail carrier's to blame, complain to the post office. Otherwise he's liable to do it again.

If they brush you off, file a complaint with US Postal Inspection Service (https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/contactUs/filecomplaint.aspx), that's what they're for. And some of them are allowed to carry guns, too, did you know that?

But, is this the AARP that's the American Association of Retired Persons? 'Cause they've been trying to assimilate my husband for years now, we get junk mail from them all the time. If you're in the habit of throwing AARP stuff away, well ...

Yep, same organization. No, I literally haven't received a thing.

It's not just you. AARP hasn''t billed my mom for her prescription coverage, either ... thanks for the reminder!

Don't you get tired of doing everybody's job for them? Isn't it enough that you have to do your job? I hope things get better for you and that all the paperwork starts to unwrinkle and settle down.

Yes. Yes, I do. I get extremely, extremely tired of it. There seems to be no fucking POINT.

There are times I do wish that I was Harry Dresden, because I really want to cast a good strong "FUEGO!" on their asses right about now.

I am, however, reassured by the fact that it's not just me. (And by the woman who couldn't confirm that anything had even been sent to my house, as she couldn't find any records of that. A man found that they had all my information, including the correct address, and he insisted that everything had been sent--but I suspect that the woman may have accidentally blurted out the truth.)

Good gad, what a mess. I hope it all works out somehow.

I must restrain the evil part of me that wishes your mess be transferred to someone opposed to universal healthcare - or perhaps everyone who does - so that they get what the problem is.

The disconcerting part of this is that it didn't even faze them. Not even for a second. It didn't even count as an emergency. I was trying not to black out from shock, and they took nonpayment and non-delivery of bills completely in stride. As if this were NORMAL.

I think that this happening to everyone opposed to universal health care would be a wonderful idea.
