D.C. Council votes to legalize same-sex marriage.

Not that this vote legalizes same-sex marriage in Washington D.C., mind you. According to the article, there will be a second vote in two weeks. Then the mayor has to sign it. Then, after all that, the bill has to be reviewed by Congress ( Read more... )

I know! I was so tempted to ask Anne if she knew a girl named Kate, or Mark if he was friends with a Roger or an Angel. Or had dated a Maureen.

I am so proud of the DC Council for not giving in to the Catholic Church's attempted blackmail there. Good on them.

Also, I'm glad that your Comcast difficulties worked out.

Me too! The blackmail attempt by the diocese and Catholic Charities was absolutely contemptible. "Vote the way we want or the poor, the sick, the elderly and the very young will suffer." In what universe is that a virtuous or moral standpoint?

Thanks. I'm glad Comcast has worked out as well. It's incredible that so much related to my bills is going up in price whil getting stalled in terms of payment. And not on my end. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do.
