An Open Letter to the National Organization for MarriageGo thou and read it. It is fantastic, and it points out the illogic of their position flawlessly. Because seriously, saying that people's marriages are preventing freedom of speech is just not on. It's a lie, and a stupid lie

I am not sure if I posted this in LJ or not: a couple years ago, when we were still living in the Burrow, we got a small slew of calls from some organisation wanting us to support traditional marriage. Considering that our marriage is about as traditional as it gets, I should have been their target market. After getting three calls from these fucktards, I asked to speak to their supervisor. "Hi," I said. "I'm in a traditional marriage. It is the most valuable thing in the world to me and if someone threatens it, I will fight them to the death. Please tell me how gay marriage threatens my marriage and I will totally be on your bandwagon, because as of now, I don't feel convinced of the danger here. If you can't give me a reason, stop calling me." Or something to that effect.
