Disneyland Christmas Picspam (1/7)

Nov 19, 2006 17:15

Went to the Happiest Place on Earth yesterday with niece gingersnapps for the express purpose of taking pictures of the Christmas decorations. We went on Small World (so cute dressed for the holidays) and the train (to save us a little walking -- we did enough as it was) and on PotC (of course!), had a delightful dinner at the Wine Country Trattoria over in ( Read more... )

Beautiful!
Although the horse looks like it is eating someone.
Or maybe I just need more coffee.

There are (LOTS!) more coming.

I'll be there next week!!! I haven't been in 10 or 15 years, I'm so jazzed.

But I've never ever been there around the holidays. Wow! It looks like so much fun, doesn't it? coming up with all those ideas, and then seeing them put together? That castle-wreath, that's really amazing.

Thanks for sharing these :)

Holy cats! We'll be there on Sunday, too -- older daughter hasn't been in over a year. Which day are you going?

It's just beautiful around the holidays. They really go all out to make it a special time.

More pix coming! Though seeing it in person is much more better. *G*

I think Wednesday, with my sister and neice (she's 10). They live so close they go all the time, like you. I just can't imagine it - I think this is my third or fourth visit ever!

Do they go to the same great lengths decorating for other holidays? Or just Christmas?

Oh, you're going during the week! That should be better -- less crowded.

Did you see the Halloween picspam I posted? They really went all out for that too, this year. But no, they don't do it for every holiday.

The Trattoria was great! Much less expensive than the Blue Bayou. We had wine (sparkling, with Chambord -- yummy!) and lasagna (they have Chicken Alfredo, which G got, the meat kind, which I had (both were great!) and a vege kind. Also soups, salads, sandwiches. We split a salad (also delicious), and a Tiramisu for dessert. And it was uncrowded and the service was excellent. So there you go.

Glad you like the pix. More coming!

*bounce* So fun! So pretty! I keep doing double-takes at poinsettias being outside in November, LOL. The garlands over Main Street are lovely and, as porridgebird has already mentioned, the castle wreath is beautiful! Am such a child at Christmastime. *claps and points and says "oooh, pretty!"*

You know, it was 91 degrees yesterday. Craziness. There's all this Christmas music featuring snow etc. and we're all roasting. They said on the news it was the highest on that date since some time in the 1800's.

But for sure it doesn't freeze, or only very very rarely, so yeah, poinsettias and cyclamen in beds, and lots of beautiful greenery all year long. It's a gardeners paradise (although the ones who work there have to work at night, of course).

More pix coming!

Beautiful pictures. I especially like the close-ups of the tree and the decorations.
Wow; 91 degrees is no fun in the Big City.
I recall moving to Long Beach after being reared in northern Ohio. I almost never got my Christmas shopping done. It just didn't seem right without a coat.

You're right -- it doesn't seem like the holidays without a bit of cooler weather. The past few Novembers we've had some nice cold days and nights, resulting in beautiful fall color and better fruit harvests in the Spring and Summer. But this year's been very warm, so far. Hopefully it won't be too warm on Thanksgiving, when I'm using the oven all day long.

Very glad you enjoyed the pix. More coming!
