I am recovering from... the side-effects of increased pain (by reducing my pain medication down to 25% of my original dose waaaay too quickly--since mid-July) and other manifestations of my usual stubbornness

I have some time off work on October 14th (afternoon) and 15th. I could do some errands and maybe take you to the dentist if it would help.
I had a horrid flare after my sick cat attacked me and bit and scratched me all over trying to get her to the vet. :( However, this made me laugh so hard, especially after my friend Bel told me she is the judge at a Texas BBQ contest next weekend.
If calling is easier, my cell is still 206 elkchat. (206-355-2428)
I'm on facebook. I actually found out yesterday I'm having surgery on Friday for endo. :( Ugh. I have the week off but now I"ll be down recovering which really sucks.
Oh, sweetie! Take care of yourself first and foremost. And remember you can call me 24/7 if you need to vent. You should be able to see my phone number in FB. If not, go to my LJ profile & text my cell & I'll call you back.
[hug back!] Saying you don't know what to say is the perfect thing to say when it's the truth. It conveys a lot more than you think.
It's one of my two big points of advice for people who care about chronically ill people. The other is, don't just say, "Let me know what I can do." Ms. Starry up there does one of the 2 right things: suggesting things you can do or saying you wish you could help but can't. Either way, you show you're not only giving lip service.
I once replied to LMKWICanDo by suggesting something. The guy looked soooo offended. Hah!
It's also important to be able to say no. Because if you can't be relied upon to listen to any request and judge if you really can help and honestly answer, the sick person over time doesn't know if she can ask for the big things or not.
Ok. That's three things, but I swear it started out as two. :)
And the second part of my second comment to Starry applies to you and all my good friends as well:

Life happens, so it doesn't matter if I haven't seen you in a while; it would never be an imposition. I hold my friends in my heart forever. And plus, I know how to take my own advice and keep the conversation short and then pick up the next day if I have to rest up for something. :)
