How much smaller are you looking to go?

The easiest way I think, if you just need to go a bit smaller, is to only cast on 80 sts and subtract the K9, K2tog decrease row. If you keep it in multiples of 8, you should be able to just simply cast on less sts and subtract a decrease row (for example, if you start with 72 sts, you would start your decreases at the K7, K2tog)

The only problem with that is, the actual face of the creeper is going to stay the same size.

Can you tell me about what size you are looking to make the hat? Then I could try and redo the pattern a bit more for you? (Sorry... I am still kind of bad at making patterns, since I tend to knit more freehand than anything, but I will try to help in any way I can)

Hi There! Thank you for posting this pattern! My 7 year old son and 10 year old son are also obsessed with minecraft!!!! I would like to make this smaller as well. For a small adult or large kid. Do you know of the modifications we need to do? Thank you for all your help!!

I knitted two of these for my 6 and 9 year olds. They loved them! To adjust for the smaller head I cast on 60 (for a chunky yarn and size 9 needles) I reduced the rows by 25% throughout the pattern and they turned out perfect. My oldest son said all his friends wanted one. Thanks so much for the pattern!!
