Why "Grape Nuts"?

They aren't Grapes, nor do they taste grape flavored.

They aren't nuts, actually they are harder than nuts.

I don't know if I can get on with my day without resolving this mysterious conundrum......

I've always thought that they should change the name to reflect the nature of the product: "Street Gravel."

Wait, I thought thats what it used to be called in late 1967 when they started paving the streets with it shortly after the Great Gravel Strike of 1965.
