Why "Grape Nuts"?

They aren't Grapes, nor do they taste grape flavored.

They aren't nuts, actually they are harder than nuts.

I don't know if I can get on with my day without resolving this mysterious conundrum......

for real - I recall asking mom to buy me Grape Nuts when I was about four or five years old after seeing a commercial, thinking that grape-flavored cereal would be the greatest thing ever! What a let down. Barf.
