* CoventryTelegraph: BBC bosses disappointed as Merlin producers announce end of show after five years
There's only so much we can endure from Bradley James's witless, boorish King Arthur whose reign of stupidity has suppressed any character growth for Colin Morgan's Merlin (aided in his struggles by Richard Wilson's excellent Gaius). Katie McGrath ( Read more... )

Hah, funny ( not) how everyone expected it to go on, but the creators knew all along it'll be last and all the talks at the SDCC were a lot of bull...
That's why they did not do any Cons this year or PR, there was just no point and they would have to answer questions they did not have answers for. Like when will be the REVEAL. How can they be sooo arrogant??? How can they think that developing Gwen's character at the last season at the expanse of the main character is a HUGE mistake. Instead of capitalising on the very talented duo, they ruined the lot.

Wait. Is the first paragraph really what the BBC Bosses are saying about the show? Jeez! Kinda harsh. True but harsh. Where we're they during series 3?

That's NOT what the BBC bosses are saying, it's the writer of the article's opinion of the show.

I almost want BBC to commission a series six without the creators, since Shine is interested in doing a spin-off anyways and they own the rights. I think so many people feel cheated that the magical reveal hasn't happened and doesn't appear to be happening until the series finale. I know I do! It was my worst fear. I'm trying to enjoy the show for what little moments it gives me, but I have to say: I am disappointed.

If the actors are in I would want that so bad. I also feel cheated. I hope the magic reveal happenes but not in the last episode or have arther know all along. That's lazy and stupid.

i blame the critics it was obvious the producers were not listening to the fans and i think had the the critics been a bit hard on them they might have listen, but all i ever read was praise even when most fans were face palming themselves wondering if they are watching the same show,ep9 season 4 is a good example, the constant reset button ,the stupid jokes that undermine all character growth and the insistence on keeping the magic secret even at the expense of character growth.none of this critics said anything about this short failings ,at times i felt like we were watching different shows from the critics, now when its too late and the damage as been done they are just too happy to point the faults.am glad and sad its ending the actor in Merlin are very talented and they deserve better than this writers gave them ,i will follow them forward but am never investing in anything by this producers ever again ,i don't care how good it sound or look in the beginning.
