omg I read this book when it first came out T________T it's been so long I thought he just quit the series altogether. I barely remember the character names but I do remember thinking that he wrote the candy/boa "twist" really poorly and I saw it from a mile away (but that also could have been because inuyasha was fresh in my mind) but the world is so interesting and the art is so prettyyyyyyy
ugh lmao idk! he's also a director, i think, so maybe he was working on movies or sth?? i'm just glad the new book is finally coming out hehe. ya the candy/boa thing was... rly obvious but maybe he meant it to be idk! yessss i am excited for the aaaart :'D
yeah I remember that he does...quite a lot. he writes a lot of adult mystery too? so many things! I hope people read the book though, since the people that read the second one when it came out have moved out of the ~ya~ age. and it's not a book that fits in with the current ~trends. but yeah even when I was :|-ing at parts of the plot I was always drooling at the art.

Ugh our otp is bewtiful. I love Carrion. I totally agree that Candy's whole two souls thing-despite her similarities with Boa- very much is the cause of her quirkiness and all (not trying to be ableist) and I think that in a way she and Carrion are very similar in that they both have faced a sort of isolation from the people they want to be with, and also just want to GET OUT from the relationships they have with their families/etc. While Carrion is the representation of malignant abuse from his grandmother, Candy is the representation of disillusionment from the human world. And thus they both kind of live in that stranded world where they want to feel accepted desperately but don't know how?
IDK IDK I JUST WANT THEM TO MARRY AND HAVE BABIES ETC ETC UGH IF ANYTHING CLIVE BARKER BETTER MAKE UP THESE SEVEN YEARS OF WRITING WITH SOME FABULOUS SQUEEGASMS OF OTP OKAY.
