Overanalyzing of Gauron and Sousuke (Long rambling)

I notice a lot of people claim that Gauron is a very one-dimensional character. That he has no apparent motivation for going after Sousuke, (other than that time when Sousuke shot him in self defense, which seems like a lame excuse for a villain) and that he's a very shallow character.

Hi. I came upon this when I went to the fmpslash community when I just recently got into FMP. I loved reading your Gauron and Sousuke comment. I do agree that Gauron is one twisted person by what he experienced but also by his own inherent manner of thinking. He loves Sousuke and that is a mystery to Sousuke, he can't understand and it's not just the "I want you to have my babies" it must be something deeper than that to make Gauron so obsessed after all these years.

As for Sousuke, I completely agree he gets off by doing his duty and having others place their trust in him. *Chuckles* I agree he must be compensating for being small. He was even glad in his own way when he heard that Gauron was alive? (not sure on that one).

If only they can work on their issues that of being a maniac and one of being a stoic, they might realize that they may have things in common.

BTW, I looked at your other post and I'm in love with those images. A twisted love made sweet by your drawings.

Maybe I can help with this - though, since I haven't read all the comments, it's possible someone else addressed it already. (I would try to wave off the creepy stalker vibe that responding to this comment so long after the fact probably gives, but since I'm commenting with this journal...) I believe that Gauron has never truly seen Kashim as a person. Instead, Kashim is the embodiment of an ideal and an aesthetic to him - ones that he tried and ultimately only partially succeeded at capturing in the twins. To Gauron, Kashim is like a work of art rather than a human being ( ... )

I LOVE THAT YOU WROTE THIS. (Yeah. So I started stalking you once I saw your post in the community and luckily I found this. :D)

Seriously. I haven't been keeping up with this fandom for a long time now, mainly because I can't get hold of the translations anywhere online, and also, TSR basically destroyed any fanfic I had going because...yeah.

I love your analysis of Gauron, and I love the little insights you have on both characters. Gauron is just so...dangerous that it's often very difficult to portray that in fanfiction, coupled with his dark humour and his seemingly easy going mannerisms, that I don't think anyone other than psychopixie has managed to convey so well. On the other hand, there isn't exactly a wealth of fanfiction available...

As for Sousuke, I love that he's very strong (both physically and mentally) and yet he just is, so vulnerable at times. ;____; I think I have a thing for characters like this, and I love it more when disreputable characters take advantage of that.

I've actually drawn some Gauron/Sousuke doujinshi as well - though basically, I used a lot of FMP Sigma (you know, the bedridden scene) as references. I find Gauron so difficult to draw, because my style is very...um, lets say...stylised, so I find manly characters end up turning girly on my watch. And you know, girly Gauron is something that just isn't right. *shudders ( ... )

I think Sosuke almost does not wish to believe this fact. It is as if he is fine believing it is purely coincidental. If I were Sosuke I would have gone into hiding, changed my name, etc. I almost wished there was helluva more insight on Gauron than there was ya know? The villains of anime sometimes far exceed my curiosity in comparison to the heroes. Good thing is in FMP I like the heroes too (Kalinin ( ... )

Yeah, Sousuke continues to be in denial. Gauron has to end up screaming a love confession at the top of his lungs, and even then, Sousuke blows it off XD. And I totally know what you mean - I would kill (okay, maybe not, but close!) to get a story about Gauron's background. Heck, we don't even know what his real full name is! It's not fair. (I remember the first time I read the story Voice from the North, and I was SO ecstatic that they mentioned Gauron in there, and told more about his background.) Awww, yeah, Kalinin is a badass old guy :D. I like him too ( ... )

I remember reading this a while ago! Wow, this should unofficially be the encyclopedia for Gauron x Sousuke. Your research and analysis is so comprehensive and detailed. I totally believe everything you wrote and I wish there were more information!

Awww, thank you so much! ;A; I'm really happy you enjoyed reading it. I totally know what you mean - I've pretty much scoured everywhere looking for any possible information that semi-relates to this couple, and I'm still yearning for more details and information! I wish that the author would release more side stories that involve Gauron's background, as well as more on his relationship with Sousuke. It would help provide even more insight into this interesting coupling. (I would really love to know about Gauron's youth, as well. He sounds like he would've been a real piece of work XD.)

Hey I'm new to the site and to the anime (havent read the novel yet) but from what Ive seen and based on your observations I have to say I find Gauron's obsession with Sousuke is realy romantic (obveously in its own twisted sense of the term) their relationship has that JokerxBatman it takes two to tango kinda feeling where neither person could exist without someone to oppose them, making them undoubtably tied in a realy beautiful yet messed up as fuck way, Its funny because Im strait (and male) but I realy enjoy this kind of material for the romantic qualitys, where even in the most perverted sense like Gauron wanting to stick it to a teenager somehow love still comes into it, I guess Im a hopeless romantic like that ;)

Almost forgot to say great article, I got refered here by one of my best friends and she loved your thoughts on the subject, so thanks alot she loves Gauron and this made her happy :)

Hi there! Awww, thank you so much! I'm always really happy to hear from other people who are into FMP (and this pairing~ XD), and it makes my day to hear that my analyzations were appreciated! :D (OMG, you need to read the novels sometime though! There are more moments in there where their antagonistic / romantic relationship is more evident. Volume One has quite a few moments. Volume Two only had a brief passage at the very end (which pretty much consisted of Gauron using binoculars to spy on Sousuke and telling his comrade that the whole trip was worth it because he could see his "precious boy"... lol. I never regretted getting Volume Two just for that part. Volume Three had a ton of moments, and Volume Four had the infamous confession where Gauron tells Sousuke he wanted to raep him. Yay XD! I'm pretty sure you can download Volume Four's PDF online - it's called "Ending Day by Day". I swear, I need to make a compilation of all the official Gauron / Sousuke moments and just post it up ( ... )
