Overanalyzing of Gauron and Sousuke (Long rambling)

I notice a lot of people claim that Gauron is a very one-dimensional character. That he has no apparent motivation for going after Sousuke, (other than that time when Sousuke shot him in self defense, which seems like a lame excuse for a villain) and that he's a very shallow character.

Well, here are my overanalyzations and reasons why I disagree. ( Read more... )

Hi there! Awww, thank you so much! I'm always really happy to hear from other people who are into FMP (and this pairing~ XD), and it makes my day to hear that my analyzations were appreciated! :D (OMG, you need to read the novels sometime though! There are more moments in there where their antagonistic / romantic relationship is more evident. Volume One has quite a few moments. Volume Two only had a brief passage at the very end (which pretty much consisted of Gauron using binoculars to spy on Sousuke and telling his comrade that the whole trip was worth it because he could see his "precious boy"... lol. I never regretted getting Volume Two just for that part. Volume Three had a ton of moments, and Volume Four had the infamous confession where Gauron tells Sousuke he wanted to raep him. Yay XD! I'm pretty sure you can download Volume Four's PDF online - it's called "Ending Day by Day". I swear, I need to make a compilation of all the official Gauron / Sousuke moments and just post it up.)

Yes, I totally agree that Sousuke and Gauron's relationship has a lot in common with JokerxBatman! The whole "self-appointed role of arch-nemesis" that Gauron makes himself to be, and the way he stalks Sousuke and antagonizes him because he loves him... it's a lot like the Joker. And Sousuke is the super serious, no-nonsense Batman XD. LOL yeah, I definitely think that no matter whether you're male or female, this kind of enemy dynamic is very fascinating and romantic! :D I dunno, I just find myself being much more fascinated with pairings that involve crazy enemy / love relationships. Call me a sucker for messed up, unorthodox relationships XD.
