[dated just after this conversation.]

[the Doctor's Sphere turns on, the trails of a few pieces of string visible around the screen and lead to the his wrist. if one were to see him, it might look as though he possesses a new kind of balloon. he has his gloves off, hands gently pressed against something pink, and his eyes are shut. he doesn't even notice the Sphere is on. he's also holding his breath--he's well within the time limit his lung bypass system allows--but that's a bit difficult to tell.

but then again, if one really did see him, they'd notice him high up just past where the baleen is growing out of the whale's mouth. how did he get up there when he's supposed to be in gravity boots? well, let's say he's very well-versed in reversing the polarity of things... and just what is he doing, you may ask? well...people on the ships might notice the rocking beginning to stop as the space whale's tongue quits trying to dislodge the ships. its attempts haven't helped in the effort to cut the baleen, that's for sure.

after a few minutes later, his eyes open, a relieved expression on his face--until he notices the Sphere's on. he holds up one finger to indicate he'll talk again in just a moment, and puts his gloves back on. then he spins around, grabbing his Sphere, kicks off the whale's mouth, propelling himself down the baleen. down he goes for until he's reaches the nearest ship, the Uesugi, and heads in through the nearest airlock. once inside and re-pressurised, he removes his helmet, a rather satisfied grin on his face.]

I've always wanted to do that! That was--[he stops]--ah. That looked a bit odd, didn't it?
