[he winces as his headache continues to plague him, but despite that, Menaeus actually has a smile on his face. how odd!]

Attention my lovely crew! [and yes, he does mean those on the Hawking too] It appears that I may have underestimated you. A little bit. Those were some very clever plans I heard being batted around, but the safest plan for all, including the whale, is to tickle it and get it to sneeze us out of its mouth. Of course, we need to be completely free of its baleen when it does or we'll just be flapping around in the wind! Don't want that now, do we?

This mission comes with some pretty hefty risks, but so far, you've seemed to have handled it pretty well. This is what I need from you: Use those combat machine's of Farix's and first use a laser knife setting on it to cut through the baleen faster. At the rate we're going now, it'll be another three days before we're free, and that's the optimistic outlook. The reality of it is that we'll be that much closer to becoming puddles, but with those machines, the job should be done in half the time, even a day! So, I'll need some volunteers for those, but understand that you'll have quite the ride once you get the all-clear to tickle the whale.

As for the rest of you, I need everyone to get back in the ships as soon as possible so the volunteers can cut us away without worrying about slicing any of you open in the process. We're going to be in for one hell of a ride even in ships this size, so everyone needs to batten down the hatches and find some place to strap yourself in for the ride. All civilians, I recommend you lot head back to your rooms. You'll be safest there.

Now that I'm...[he's reluctant to admit this] in possession of my own faculties again, I'll see what I can do about the climate control around here.

DETAILS

Those of you who do wish to pilot the combat machines--remember, it takes a member from both the Combat Division and the Science Division to pilot one--please comment here! We'll be doing things a bit differently this time around and in order to do this, we'll be pausing the game clock. Volunteers will be taken, but those who actually get to work the machines will be determined through AIM dice tomorrow Thursday morning at 1 am CST (or rather about 24 48 hours from the time of this post in case it isn't night where you are now.) There are four open machines, the first of which is occupied by Oliver and Lightning, and we will need more than just the one combat machine/mecha going out there. Because of the whale's size, one little machine trying to do anything to it won't be nearly as effective. After this plot, they won't be able to volunteer for a spot on the machines again, at least not for the next plot we'll be using them for. To make this fair, the same will go for the rest of this mission's volunteers, but only if you're chosen. Those who volunteer and aren't chosen through the AIM dice will be able to put their names in again the next time the combat machines are needed.

However! If you would wish to pilot a combat machine alone, there is a mode the commanders didn't mention before, which is a solo mode. Those who do choose to pilot one solo will have to keep in mind that they'll be doing double the work, so it will be more mentally and physically challenging--though the most that can really happen to them is a stress headache.

Once we have our team of baleen cutters/whale ticklers, the game clock will start up again and from there we'll have about a day for the baleen to be cut away, and another half day to get on with the tickling.

But know that if things are going a bit slow on that front, don't worry. You can finish out threads at your own pace. So long as the actions are started, the end result of the whale spitting the ships out of its mouth will still happen. For this, I wouldn't recommend doing it as a group log; those only seem to stall after the first couple of replies, especially when a posting order gets involved.

I will post again with Menaeus in the OOC comm as an official restart of the game clock to signal to everyone that the timer has started to run again, and a day after that, he'll announce again that the machines need to finish up and move on to the next process--and he'll issue another warning to the rest of the crew. (Oh, and as for Menaeus' behaviour? The happy anomaly did him a world of good and that change is there to stay.)

While the game clock is stopped, those of you who aren't volunteering can still post! There's plenty of stuff to do on the ship to get things prepared for their soon-to-be-imminent ejection from the whale's mouth.

If you have any questions at all, please don't be afraid to ask! I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Edit: Gundam pilots are also able to participate in this mission! Since they own their own suits and aren't borrowing from the Alliance, they won't be restricted in participating in the missions like the volunteers.

Edit 2: We're extending things another day to give people more time to see this and volunteer, as well as to give more options for participation. Please state your intentions if you wish to join in this mission!

Edit 3: The game is back on! OOC announcement is here!
