was there ever a time when you could actually use a computer that you bought that had pre-installed programs on it? that hasn't happened once in my over 15 years of computer-using! besides I hate XP!!! And most computers, if not all, come with XP those days. But the PowerDVD is normal. If you don't buy the product yourself, you only get a version with SOME tools, not all of them. It's the tease that is supposed to make you buy it.
It saddens me that you are not happy with Dell. I'm using the Dell laptop right now that bf bought, and he didn't have a single problem with it :-( I wish it were the same for you! It's always suckage if you pay for something and are not happy with it.

Yeah, actually there was. Before I built my own systems, I owned 3 Compaq's. Never had a problem with them, was always happy with the software that came on them. I didn't go with them this time, because I'm not sure what they are like since they merged with HP.
It does suck, bigtime. I am beyond words really. :(
Unbelievable! I think it's time to write that letter to the CEO, detailing everything that's happened (might take you one or two tries before you can manage to get a letter that isn't emotionally charged). Do you have the names of the people you spoke to? That would help a lot.
Unfortunately, no, I didn't get the names. I got too aggrevated. But I have gone back and written everything down that happened. And I agree, a letter is in order. Once I'm in a better frame of mind *g*

I hope so. I think I've figured out what went screwy and managed to get back into it and do a system restore from a previous point and not a total wipeout. But it looks like if I send it back, I have to pay shipping, and a 15% restocking fee (unless they really admit that something is wrong). But I'm going to see. I hope.

Ok, just two simple ones, quickly (I'm running late to prepare for work ;D) : Connards ! - pronounced *con-r* - and my personal favourite : Enfoirés ! - this one's harder to tell, it's pronounced approximately en-fwa-ré (the final *s* are never heard in French, they just indicate plural, and that's more than you ever wanted to know, isn't it ? ;))

Thank God our boss listened to our IT Manager and did not get me a Dell desktop! I shall tell them of your problems (and hope you get this fixed soon!) to offer more proof why we should get an HP.
ArgH! Too late, they have decided to get the Dell only because the Acer's a dud and HPs are rather dodgy in the market lately. Well, it's their money, it's their problem. As long as I don't have to be blamed for work not being done on time.
