I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who feels this way. Though I'm late into liking SGA, I think there is room for everyone. I never developed a fondness for Weir. I think it was just Torri herself, not the character. That might have changed with time, though now I won't find out. *G ( ... )

I've read enough forums to know that there is a lot of heat on both sides of this, but the bottom line is that the actress chose to leave the show - she wasn't fired or let go by TPTB. She didn't like the way they were portraying Weir, or something like that. And Weir's not dead, either, so there's still potential that she can come back. And, apparently the main reason that Carter was moved to Atlantis is because they needed to find a way to fulfill Amanda Tappings contract, which had just been signed shortly before they axed SG-1, so it's not as if she was behind this decision ( ... )
