I'm groggy atm (terrifying incident with one of the cats, much anxiety medicine, kitty okay) but I had to say:

I agree about the attention to detail AND the retained memory, and BAHAHAHAHA to this being three minutes.

*hugs* You are hereby my official Walking Dead fellow nutter buddy!

I read something that the show runner said the helicopter at the beginning was the same one Rick saw at the beginning of season 1. It took weeks for the walkers to make it to the farm.
So if you think back to season 1, the whole time they were dealing with the gang and Merle and the CDC, the walkers were making their way to Hershel's.
For me, that made the episode more incredible. Like it was all destine to happen, they just happened to be there when it did.

Oh man, this is very true. Just think of it, these dudes were walking for weeeeeeeks. Destiny indeed.

And just think, if Carl hadn't shot Zombie!Shane they probably would have continued on through the woods unaware, eventually passing the Green farm and beyond. *shivers* But then again if Carl hadn't shot Zombie!Shane, Rick might have biffed it.

...WD Writers. Rather subtly brilliant.

ETA: I suppose that the point though. In this world there is no such thing as 'good' choices anymore perhaps?

Couldn't it possibly be base memory at work? Like we saw in the pilot with the little girl and the stuffed animal?

I tend to go with you on this one - I've always felt that there had to be some sort of spark in there, something of the past life or whatever that remains regardless of the virus. Just like the little girl with the stuffed animal. Why on earth would a walker pick up a stuffie? It's not making any noise. You can't eat it. So why then?

My Milo in the very first episode intrigued me for that very reason. He looked at Rick on that tank like "I know what you are and I'm coming to get you." He was smart, no one can convince me otherwise.

The doctor zombie caught my eye too *nods* Has anyone ficced him yet?

That sign!! Trespass and it's your ass." Most definitely a Dixon type of sign! :D

I agree. I strongly believe that something, however muted and buried remains. Maybe even basic feeling or memory. Perhaps that stuffie was even the little girls to begin with. The details are fascinating to consider.

Oh Milo, so much love. I remember our discussions on him. So well acted, you could actually see him working it all out in his head. That was the intriguing/chilling thing about him. Plus he was gorgeous. (For a dead man? - Creeper? NO REGRETS.) I admit I was looking for him in the Atlanta herd, super sad when I didn't see him. I NEED MORE OF MILO IN MY LIFE.

No one has ficced Doctor Zombie yet. (YOU SHOULD.)

Exactly! It's like the zombies in Dawn of the Dead - why did they go to the mall? There has to be something there, some small piece of who they were before.

I miss Milo terribly! I so wanted him in that herd from Atlanta - I looked for him too! I started to email Joe and ask him why he wasn't there. I might do it anyway *g* I think it might amuse him :)

Hehe, twist my arm. He needs a name - got any thoughts?

Hmmm. He looks like a Richard to me! Richard Johnson. THE EVERYDAY MAN.

You should email him, ask if we will get to see his face in the season to come!
