And kitty is fine. Toaster phased into cat-space when the grocery delivery guy was here, and my partner wasn't 100% sure she didn't get out. Cue EPIC FREAKOUT, searching the apartment top to bottom twice (I CHECKED THE CABINET OVER THE FRIDGE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD), and wandering through the huge apartment complex calling for her in a voice an inch from crying. We live right by a highway, and also there is a greenspace where the raccoons are four times her size.
The little shit had somehow found a space where two grown women searching frantically couldn't find her (my theory: she moved from place to place while we were busy looking). I finally found her, and clutched her to my chest whilst she was growingly unappreciative of being smooshed.

I rescued her and her brother from the snow when they were five weeks old. They are now nine years old and don't show a day of it. <3
