*Went out with my MIL yesterday. Bought things I really didn't need, but when you see something at Big Lots that you like, you better buy it because it'll be gone by the time you come back. I bought two new area rugs for the kitchen. Then we went to Target which is undergoing some new construction, they're turning it into a superstore. My MIL ( Read more... )

And then to have them cut it out because it was too realistic would really piss me off. -- Ah the good ole days when slapping your hand over your mouth and exiting stage was enough of a hint. ;)

Still I guess you don't survive long in acting if you can't let the WTF moments roll off your back.

I think at first, it upset him, but he's a good sport about it now.

A long time ago, in a city far, far away, we had three major supermarkets. One was fairly local; two were bigger chains. The local one rearranged itself completely at one point. Brilliant Husband went shopping there, and yes, it took some work to find things again-but what blew his mind was the woman who huffed, "I always used to shop here. But since you've changed the store, I'm never shopping here again!"

He got home and pointed out that this means she would simply have to learn an entirely new supermarket, rather than the redesigned one.

That's is so true and so funny. LOL!

My MIL complained that she couldn't find cough medicine the first time she and her hubby went in, but it was in the same place it was before - the pharmacy section was one of the few that didn't move.

Listened to the commentary for 'Blackout' (Boomtown) last night. Can I say, the things Neal does for his craft. I could never, EVER agree to actually vomit. That's just...ew. And then to have them cut it out because it was too realistic would really piss me off.

they made him do that? or has method acting gone too far? i don't even like to hear the sound effect for "being sick."

The story was, nothing they tried was looking right. It was his (Neal's) idea to drink the mushroom soup followed by two pitchers of water to induce the vomiting. So, yes and no, it was method acting going to far but Neal volunteered.

On the commentary, he was a good sport about the whole thing.

Now I know that when I watch the scene and the other actors are turning away in disgust - that isn't acting. ;)

Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Philip Marlowe.

OOOH YEAH. That's what it reminds me of… Huh.

Hee-

Have you read the books? They're a wonderful mix of different genres.
