*Went out with my MIL yesterday. Bought things I really didn't need, but when you see something at Big Lots that you like, you better buy it because it'll be gone by the time you come back. I bought two new area rugs for the kitchen. Then we went to Target which is undergoing some new construction, they're turning it into a superstore. My MIL complained about how she doesn't know where anything is and she doesn't like it. I told her that she just needs to get used to it. Why do some people act so negatively towards change? Are we that stuck in a routine that even when a store changes around, it causes people to moan. So, just get used to it - no big deal.
*While at Target, I bought the new
Harry Dresden book titled Changes - heh, the irony. I am familiar with the Dresden Files and not just from the SciFi Channel. I'm looking forward to starting this book while I take a nice bubble bath today. Jim Butcher has another series out called The Codex Alera but I don't know if I'll get into that. I need to reacquaint myself with the Dresden Files (and buy my own books instead of borrowing them like I did in the past).
I love the line from Entertainment Weekly about the Dresden Files: "Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Philip Marlowe." That pretty much explains it.
*I don't have the car today so I had to walk mini-me to her bus stop. It is hot out there! I'm hoping that either Jay will be able to pick her up - if he leaves Ft. Lauderdale early enough - or the busdriver will drop mini-me off in front of the house. The driver knows where I live and has done this before. See, when you know you live on the driver's route, you get to know them. Then if need be, they'll drop your child off at the front door because it's not out of their way. *thumbs up*
*Listened to the commentary for 'Blackout' (Boomtown) last night. Can I say, the things Neal does for his craft. I could never, EVER agree to actually vomit. That's just...ew. And then to have them cut it out because it was too realistic would really piss me off.
*There will be no to-do-list today. But I do need to vacuum.
