Doesn't the manual actually warning against using things like acetone to clean the cartridges? I'm surprised you didn't end up w/ NES brand napalm.

As for VC, ever since reading World War Z, I've had an all new take on that place:

"Rarely, like, blue-moon rarely, we'd enter a zone where we were
totally not welcome. In Valley City, North Dakota, they were like,

Isopropyl alcohol is my cleaning agent of choice, but it's not always strong enough to get some of the marker or sticker residue off.

So I picked up some acetone to try getting some of the really bad marker off. I've only done testing on a few carts, as I don't really like to use it because of it's plastic-melting ability. It works really well to get marker off, but it wears off the texture of the cart and you can still see a bit of an outline of where the acetone was applied. So basically, the trade is giant black marker letters for a smooth gray. My next test is going to be with Goo Gone.

The back of the carts do warn against using things like these to clean the carts, mostly because you were supposed to use the Nintendo Cleaning Kit, which was probably just isopropyl alcohol anyways

I've read that Goo Gone can work pretty well for that. You might also want to try a non-acetone based nail polish remover.
