What are you waiting for?

Hank McCoy is waiting for the appropriate time to give his speech.

He hasn’t prepared much-just a few words, most of which were given to him by Jean. But the more he listens to the various speeches, the more he feels himself itching in his seat to give his own. Some of the speeches have, of course, been fantastic. Read more... )

After Doom's speech, Jean can sense the confusion among the audience. They wonder if that is the note that they will be sent away on, to Cable-organized committee meetings (at least a few of which, Jean knows, are populated by ringers recruited from Providence's substantial Live Action Role Playing Community.) Speeches that propose nothing concrete, leading into meetings that are meaningless or in some cases outright fraudulent. Sometimes she thinks Nathan should have stuck with grenades.

Hank, she whispers in her friend's mind. No time like the present, don't you think? Give them something memorable to end on. I have faith!

Oh, that's perfect. And am flattered to see my cold-medicine induced ramblings distinguished as eloquent. Also, you might note, that Cable ended up using much the same language to hint to Mystique that Jean might be willing to help KILL Magneto. *shakes head*

Thank you! I was as worried as Hank that I wouldn't do justice to your ideas (cold-medicine induced or not).

The Summers-Grey family has a pretty unique set of moral codes, doesn't it?
