Avi and I are busy fighting about whether I should post that bit - where he discovers Dani's piercing - yet. First of all, he says, I haven't told all the bits that lead up to it, so he's worried he'll come off as easy (I've informed him that no one will think that; we all know it took six months before he'd let Dani kiss him, after all). But, also, Avi says he's uncomfortable with bits of his personal journal being put up for public display.
Dani and I will have a talk with him about this, and maybe we can convince him to share the diary entry with us. Otherwise, they'll just continue to share bits of how they got together until Avi agrees.
Maybe enough dramatic sighing will get Avi all sympathetic and he'll let me post his journal entry. But, yeah, Dani's being very careful of Avi's feelings, and that, in my view, is something to definitely encourage.

Also? Really loving his perspective on war/the military/suchwhat. *shudders slightly* Tzahal - oh, the stories I bet he has - and won't likely tell.
His is not all that unusual a perspective, in the circle of ex-Israeli-army guys I know. They know why they have to take up arms, and they support the State and want it to survive, but warfare is not what they would do if they didn't have a very compelling reason. And, yeah - he's got some interesting stories, but he's a much happier Dani when he doesn't have to think about them.
These guys are great. Hope Avi comes off strike soon.
It would be nice, but I'm not holding out hope. I'll have to check with him. I'm so glad you're still enjoying them. :-)
