Dani wanted to do some more questionnaires, now that he's gotten a chance to tell some stories.

Questionnaire #7 - Best and Worst
What's the worst thing that's ever happened to you?

I started in Tzahal right at the beginning of the first intefaddah. I don't think I could pin down just one thing I experienced as the worst.

What's the best thing that's ever happened to you?

Would it be cliched to say it was meeting Avi?

cliched? Maybe a bit, but I think it's sweet.

OK, then - meeting Avi.

Who is your worst enemy?

I don't have one. I try to avoid concepts like "enemy" now that I'm no longer part of a military force.

Who is your best friend?

Dudu, I think, weird as that may sound.

That's not weird. I think it's sweet.

Again with the sweet. Ach...

OK, then - why Dudu? What makes it more than just a sibling relationship?

He's my brother, yes, but he's also my closest confidante and my sanity checker and my sounding board.

Tell us about your worst kiss.

Heh. I was 15. I tried kissing Mira Katz at the Israel Fair held on the Esplanade every year (well, until they moved it). She was a friend of Dana's, which I hadn't realized, and she knew that Dana and I were dating, so when I tried to kiss her, she bit my tongue. Hard.

Tell us about your best kiss.

Hmm...there was something just so special about that first one with Avi. It wasn't hot, it wasn't deep, it just was...special (even if I did freak out right after it, worried I was pushing him too fast). But I hope to improve on that beginning in the near future.

Questionnaire #8 - Mornings
What time do you wake/get up?

Between 7:30 and 8 on work days; later on the weekends.

What's the first thing you do upon waking?

Pee. Then drink coffee. Then shower. Then drink more coffee. Day doesn't really start before that second cup of coffee.

Are you a morning person?

Uh...I need two cups of coffee before I can even get dressed. What do you think?

So I'll take that as a "no."

Ya think?

What is your typical morning like?

Get up. Do aforementioned ritual. Check e-mail. Read comics on-line, if I'm up early enough. Get dressed. Head for T. Try to be at work before 9:30.

Do you drink coffee?

By the gallon, it seems.

Do you need coffee?

Oh, yes. Didn't you get that from the need-two-cups-of-coffee-before-getting-dressed part?

Questionnaire #9 - Are you?
Are you...

Smart?

I (and Harvard, apparently) think so.

Arrogant?

Sometimes. Though I try not to let it show too much.

Good-looking?

Others seem to think so. I still see the geeky kid with the crooked teeth and the thick glasses, but orthodonture and contact lenses do a lot to hide him from the rest of the world.

Sexy?

The guys I've dated seem to think so (much more than the women I've dated, for some reason). I'm still not totally convinced.

Capable?

Of many things. But totally incompetent when it comes to others.

Dangerous?

Not in non-combat situations. In combat situations, definitely. I was trained by some of the best - and most dangerous - soldiers alive. And I'm good at the craft, though I hated having to do it.

Questionnaire #10 -- Marks
Do you have any scars?

Yeah - left knee, from one too many falls onto a gravel surface. Didn't know there was also glass on the ground (though it's not like I fell on purpose and could check first). Needed 12 stitches. I was about 11.

Do you have any piercings?

Yup. A single hole in each of my earlobes, though I usually leave them empty (and when I do dress up, I usually just wear one). And another piercing...elsewhere.

C'mon, Dani. Don't be coy.

Hey, I would've told you two weeks ago. But then Avi discovered it by accident and his reaction...wow. So now it's special, and I don't want to share. But just let me say - for Avi's sake more than for mine - that I don't have to be completely naked for it to be found. And it's a small silver hoop.

Do you have any tattoos?

Nope. Some of the guys in my unit wanted me to get one when they did, but I could only imagine Ima and Abba's reaction to it, so I didn't.

Do you have any other markings?

Nope. Well, a couple of random freckles, but that's it.

Do you wear any jewellery?

See above, re piercings.

Have you ever broken any bones?

Left arm twice - both before I was 9. Fell off the jungle gym, both times. Right collar bone when I was 3 - was jumping on the bed and missed on the way down. And that's just actual breaks. Sprains and cuts and bruises are another whole story. Ima used to greet the emergency room docs by name and bring them cookies, Dudu and I were there so often.

Questionnaire #11 - Grab Bag
What is your favourite mode of transportation?

I have a bike, but Boston weather makes it difficult for me to get out and ride too often. So I'll have to say T and foot.

Can you cook?

Yeah. But since I started this thing with Avi, I don't do it very often, 'cause he can't eat in my kitchen. Though I've cooked at his place a couple of times.

Do you have big feet?

For a guy my hight, not so bad. But on the large-ish side. 12 to 12 1/2 D.

What is the square root of 169?

13. I memorized all the squares up to 16 when I was about 10, just because I felt like it.

Why 16?

'Cause then I got bored with the project and moved on to cubes.

If you could change your name to anything you wanted, what would you change it to?

Something easier for people to pronounce. People see "Daniel" and assume the American pronunciation. So either I'd go with something incontrovertably Western (like "Steven") or something incontrovertably foreign (like "Chanoch"). But standard-looking-name-with-odd-pronunciation is just a big mess.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Eh? You getting all Zen on me?

Sorry.

No problem.
