I was wondering, could anyone tell me what  the word "emo"  means? I've heard it several times in the last year, and I believe I was referred to as one earlier this afternoon.

It's not a bad thing, is it? I...I don't think I was behaving offensively, just sitting on a bench writing haiku...

A-Apparently being emo implies that I'm a suicidal, depressed, sadsack. And people are assuming I'm emo because my shihakusho is black.

I'll try not to worry about it, but it doesn't seem like a very flattering impression for one to have of me.

I don't really understand it, myself. Black is such a sensible color.

I suppose it could be worse. People whispering about me isn't anything new. I'm just surprised it's about something so silly.

Nothing's wrong with it. But part of being, um, emo - it's short for emotional, I think - is that you wear your hair over one eye. Don't ask me why, I don't know.
