Oh, this would be my job. I'm hosting a cook-off that broadcasts over the Guide, as you've already seen. And people compete to make the best dishes and such for a couple of judges. We seem to have lost one such contestant to food poisoning, that is all.
That's a mistake anyone can make. And that my fellow friend, is how we learn to cook in the first place. [And if he sounds like he's talking from experience, HE IS!]
Some time ago actually. I don't think you were here at the time. But anyway, what was a week on this ship, was weeks back home. In that time, I got myself Luke-- the newest addition to the family.

Isn't usually a bad sign when a contestant gets sick on a cooking show?

Usually; but who's to say? It could be any number of reasons. Some foods people just can't eat.

I think you need to find better contestants. Before someone gets angry and files a complaint.
