Cold Case 001 [AUDIO]

Sep 16, 2011 00:00

[ It is very difficult to go about collecting information when you're stuck in a hospital. And unlike normal hospitals, THIS one didn't let him get up and wander around to look for his daughter. But all is well now. His boo boos are healed up now and he's free to interrogate the hell out of people because, dammit, his daughter is missing! And his ( Read more... )

... Greetings, Dojima-san.

[He doesn't remember his prior stay here... oh well.]

Shirogane!

[ Nope. Not a lick of it. Though he could always use some filling in. ]

You don't seem surprised. Did you already know I was here? And what about what I just asked?

It may be difficult to understand, but... you were here before.

[She blinks] Besides myself, Yosuke-senpai, Chie-senpai, Kanji-kun, and Souji-senpai are present at this time.

[ There is a very important name missing from that list. DAMMIT NANAKO WHY ARE YOU NOT HERE. He's taking notes but. Pretty frustrated now. ]

She isn't here....

[ Okay. Maybe she's not blown up with people who didn't make from Earth. Maybe she's on another flying space ship. But dammit, he'll find her. Somehow. He notes that Yukiko is missing, too. But as traumatized as he is over his daughter not being present, what Naoto said is pretty jarring. ]

...Here before? What do you mean?

Inaba? I know a few people who made it from there. I'm from Iwatodai, myself, and there are several others from other places in Japan.

[From different versions of Earth, of course, but let's not complicate things.]

[ Yesss. Someone who can give him information! And now Dojima is taking notes. Very important stuff. ]

Others made it from Inaba? Do you know any of their names? And could I have yours?

Naoto Shirogane, Kanji Tatsumi, Chie Satonaka, Yosuke Hanamura, Souji Seta, and Rise Kujikawa.

I'm Minato Arisato, by the way. Nice to meet you, and welcome to one of the craziest places in the universe.

[ WHAT IS THAT WELCOME.

N-Note taking. Lack of daughter's name. Lack of Yukiko's name. But... that's a hell of a lot more people than he expected. And regardless, he will find his daughter!! ]

Detective Ryotaro Dojima of the Inaba PD. Guess that title's pretty meaningless if what I've heard about Earth is true, though. And you're right; this place is high up there in the "craziest places in the universe" category.

You have?

[ GOOD. NOW TELL HIM EVERYTHING YOU KNOW! ]

Did you live nearby it? Or friends who lived there?

Neither. I recently met someone aboard the ship who said he was from Inaba.

You'll find that there are a lot of people from Japan here, even a guy claiming to be the spirit of Japan, but don't expect too many people from your exact version of Earth. This places has hundreds of people from alternate worlds.

Alternate worlds?

I'd ask why the hell everyone keeps going on about things like different worlds and timelines but considering the fact I'm on a space ship I don't think there'd be any point.

Well, to give you an example... I come from a place called Mallepa in China that was created as a free economic zone for all nationalities. My parents were Japanese that moved there and then died. So I'm Japanese but still grew up on the Chinese mainland.

Huh... I'm ashamed that I can't say I've heard of it. You sure it's not just a case of people being unfamiliar with cities instead of all this alternate world business?

I have never heard of Inaba, personally, though it seems you already have all the information you need. I'm from Tokyo myself~

[Because he took the liberty of reading your other responses before replying himself~]

[ Hey~ That is the kind of initiative Dojima likes in a person! ]

I'm not surprised. Nobody ever hears about it until they find themselves stuck in the place. It's all right for a small town, though.

It's good that people from elsewhere made it out safely, too. Do you know if there are other people from Tokyo here? Statistically speaking, there should be more people from bigger cities here, but from what I've heard, it looks like that might not be the case.

Ah, I see. Though I suspect there are a number of small towns throughout Japan that I wouldn't recognise. I prefer big cities, personally.

None that I've had the chance to speak with so far, certainly no-one who is familiar to me, but I've not been here long. And yes, as far as I can determine there seems to be no clear pattern in terms of location when it comes to who was saved.

Most people do end up preferring big cities. You can go out every night and have fun. You've got to be creative if you want entertainment in a smaller town.

So it's all randomized? Great. I knew it would be difficult to get a firm grasp on the workings of this place, but for there to be no rhyme or reason makes putting the pieces of this puzzle together nearly impossible.
