Cold Case 001 [AUDIO]

Sep 16, 2011 00:00

[ It is very difficult to go about collecting information when you're stuck in a hospital. And unlike normal hospitals, THIS one didn't let him get up and wander around to look for his daughter. But all is well now. His boo boos are healed up now and he's free to interrogate the hell out of people because, dammit, his daughter is missing! And his ( Read more... )

... Greetings, Dojima-san.

[He doesn't remember his prior stay here... oh well.]

Shirogane!

[ Nope. Not a lick of it. Though he could always use some filling in. ]

You don't seem surprised. Did you already know I was here? And what about what I just asked?

It may be difficult to understand, but... you were here before.

[She blinks] Besides myself, Yosuke-senpai, Chie-senpai, Kanji-kun, and Souji-senpai are present at this time.

[ There is a very important name missing from that list. DAMMIT NANAKO WHY ARE YOU NOT HERE. He's taking notes but. Pretty frustrated now. ]

She isn't here....

[ Okay. Maybe she's not blown up with people who didn't make from Earth. Maybe she's on another flying space ship. But dammit, he'll find her. Somehow. He notes that Yukiko is missing, too. But as traumatized as he is over his daughter not being present, what Naoto said is pretty jarring. ]

...Here before? What do you mean?

Yes... unfortunately, Nanako-chan isn't here at this time.

[She sighs. This is always the difficult part]

This ship's drive has the ability to bring in people from various points in time given that our world is destroyed at each of this different moments. You were brought here before, but a wormhole sent you away. Where to, however, I cannot say.

[ Okay, Naoto. Slowly put down the science fiction books and step away from them. Then again, considering he's here in the first place... it's sadly not all that hard to believe. More believable than magic TVs, at least. ]

Then these "wormholes" have some mind alteration side-effects? And Nanako... she might be all right?

[MAGIC TVs ARE REAL!]

Sometimes... Other times they bring in someone entirely new. Yes, Nanako-chan could be aboard another ship at this time.

(OOC: ... /Slips Rise's name with the other post/ I freakin' knew I was forgetting someone too. /head desk)

[ Somehow I actually thought I read Rise's name in there. IT'S OKAY. NO THEY ARE NOT, SHIROGANE, NOW STOP READING YOUR SCI-FI BOOKS. ]

I see.

[ No, he doesn't really see. But he can't even go for the 'it's just a dream~' excuse because he's been here too long. So instead, he gives a frustrated sigh as he tries to wrap his brain around... everything. But at least there's a chance Nanako might be safe. ]

...You said people come from different points, right? Along the timeline?

[ ...What did he just say. Stop roping him into this fairy tale fantasy! ]

[... You know, she's just going to have to prove it to him]

Yes, that's correct. For example... a year ago now, I was brought to this ship from March 22nd, 2012.

[You have to understand Dojima-san...]

[ Things would have went a lot differently if someone would have died him down and made him watch someone stick their hand through the TV. ]

March of... 2012? About three and a half months ahead of myself. Souji would have already been home by then....

Tell me, Shirogane. Did things quiet down by then? Did anyone figure out who the culprit was?

[Yes, it would've...]

[Well, that explains why he was in the hospital.]

That's correct.

... We figured out who was the true perpetrator. [But... she can't say.]

Let me guess: it wasn't Namatame, was it?

... Yes, it wasn't Namatame.

That's what I figured. If I hadn't had the time to cool off in the hospital on this ship, I might have made a terrible mistake as a detective. After thinking about it, the facts just didn't add up. Not completely.

Are you going to tell me who it was?

[Video] pishirogane September 18 2011, 00:40:25 UTC
That's right. In the end, even we didn't have all the facts until we reviewed the case as a whole with Namatame's testimony.

... I don't think it would be wise. I did tell, Yosuke-senpai once at his insistence, but he seems to have suffered amnesia since then.

I wish I'd had the chance to interrogate him myself. If he ever comes to this place, it'll be the first thing I do upon his arrival; you can bet on that.

And, to be honest, I knew in the back of my mind that you might not tell me. But it's fine; I am a police detective after all. The evidence may no longer be present, but it still existed at one point. So if you won't tell me, I'll figure out the real culprit on my own.

[ He's not holding it against her at all, especially since this is what he expected. Besides, figuring out the whole mass murder mystery on his own would be fulfilling, since the case is now very, very personal. ]

The legal system here is probably a 180 from Japan's, but even if the culprit can't be prosecuted, I still need to figure out who the real culprit is. Otherwise, it just wouldn't sit right with me; I'm sure you understand, Shirogane.
