Well, this is interesting. I can't claim that it's a situation I ever would have anticipated, but it's interesting, nonetheless. Ah, it brings up a lot of fascinating questions, don't you think? How is one supposed to feel on discovering their home world - everything they knew and all the people that ever meant anything to them - has been ( Read more... )

What do you need to know?

I don't think people should react any certain way. Everyone copes differently.

Any information you can give me outside of the basics I was given on arrival would be useful.

You're right, of course. Everyone does cope differently. How did you feel, on learning your world had been destroyed?

I'm not sure what you mean by basics. There's stuff like the jobs, wormholes, and the drive thingy.

I was worried about everyone, and kinda disappointed. I worked really hard on the resorts and shop I managed! If I'd known they'd get destroyed, I wouldn't have worked so hard! [ priorities!!! ]

'Drive thingy'? You could start with that, I suppose.

I see. So when you speak of feeling dissapointed, you're referring entirely to the fact that you'd worked so hard for nothing? [What mundane concerns!]

I think it's called the drive of infinite improbability or something. It's what the ship runs on, so every month something totally weird happens. Everyone was ponies a few days ago.

Yeah! I could have been napping or something!

[He has actually spent a little time going over the recent network posts before making himself known, and he had noticed the ponies...it was hard not to, really]

Well...that must keep things interesting, at the very least. I don't suppose anyone here has a clear idea of how it works? [He expects he's asking for too much, here]

If you'd known the world was going to be destroyed prior to it actually happening, do you not think you would have found a more creative use of your time than napping?

Some people might, but I don't, sorry.

No, why?

Not to worry~ I expect there are other things I should be focusing on at the moment, anyway.

Because napping when you know the world is going to end, when there is still so much to experience, seems somewhat limiting, wouldn't you think?

Yeah? Like what?

I dunno, I like napping, so it seems like a good choice to me. There's gonna be stuff to experience no matter where I go, so there's no reason to try extra hard.

Well, there are a lot of new things to experience, and a new environment to explore to begin with. And you mentioned jobs, earlier. I wouldn't want to find myself destitute.

That's one way of looking at it, I suppose. Though do you not think you would be missing out on anything, if you were to spend so much of your time asleep?

Careful though! The Guides mess up a lot and sign people up for different jobs than they wanted!

I think I'd be missing out, but I don't really mind.

Oh really? That sounds tedious. Thank you for the warning.

And why exactly don't you mind, if you'll excuse me asking?

No problem. You'll be stuck doing whatever it signs up for, but there's really no helping it. I don't think being warned will help you much, but still.

I dunno. Experiencing a lot of stuff isn't really a priority to me. It seems like a hassle.

I see. Tedious indeed, then. Though I suppose there's no point dwelling on something which hasn't even occurred yet.

[That, and he is arrogant enough to believe he can master the new technology swiftly enough to work out a way to prevent such an event from occurring]

That seems a little narrow-minded, if you don't mind me saying.

Some people have worse luck than others. It hasn't really happened to me, yet.

I think it's narrow-minded to think that I should be doing things differently. Uh, no offense.

Ah well, perhaps I'll be fortunate, then. Though I can't say I believe in luck, myself.

Lol, there is that. Though its not so much a case of me believing you should be doing things differently as thinking that you could, if that makes sense. No offense taken~
