Well, this is interesting. I can't claim that it's a situation I ever would have anticipated, but it's interesting, nonetheless. Ah, it brings up a lot of fascinating questions, don't you think? How is one supposed to feel on discovering their home world - everything they knew and all the people that ever meant anything to them - has been ( Read more... )

What do you need to know?

I don't think people should react any certain way. Everyone copes differently.

Any information you can give me outside of the basics I was given on arrival would be useful.

You're right, of course. Everyone does cope differently. How did you feel, on learning your world had been destroyed?

I'm not sure what you mean by basics. There's stuff like the jobs, wormholes, and the drive thingy.

I was worried about everyone, and kinda disappointed. I worked really hard on the resorts and shop I managed! If I'd known they'd get destroyed, I wouldn't have worked so hard! [ priorities!!! ]

'Drive thingy'? You could start with that, I suppose.

I see. So when you speak of feeling dissapointed, you're referring entirely to the fact that you'd worked so hard for nothing? [What mundane concerns!]

I don't think they're destroyed.

Oh? And what makes you say that?

There are times were they arrive on Thor weeks or months later. And there's proof of other ships with the same goal as this one. There's a chance that they could be on them.

I see. So there is a chance that some of the people we once knew could have survived. Though I'm curious as to how they could arrive weeks or even months later. And even then, many lives must have been lost if the worlds we knew were destroyed. Its still something to think about, isn't it?

Earth's always being threatened where I'm from. It was bound to happen some time.

But what do you want to know? You'll hear a lotta different things depending on when they're from.

So you are also from Earth? That's encouraging. Though I don't recall there ever being a threat big enough to warrant the destruction of the entire world. The story I was given seemed a little hard to believe.

Whatever information you can give me would be appreciated. I can work through the descrepancies once I've heard it all, I suppose.

It's pretty ridiculous at first, but you get used to all the crazy pretty quick.

First off, there are a lot of different versions of the same planets. My Earth has superheroes, but a lot of others don't, or there are superheroes but different ones. You'll hear a lot of different stories because of that. Most of us are refugees here on this ship as far as I know.

Don't trust the aliens here too much. They're not really helpful so they'll say anything to shut you up.

I can't wait~

Superheroes? Though I suppose ultimately that sounds no more fantastic than anything else I've been told in the last few hours. I'm curious as to how you define 'superheroes', though.

Duly noted. Though again, there is the question of definition. If we are all from different worlds, would that not make the majority of us aliens to each other?

Personally, I was pretty upset when I first got here, but it's really not that bad. There's some really nice people around here.

[Like me. I'm nice. Look - I'm even about to offer my time and superior knowledge!]

What sort if things do you want to know?

A somewhat predictable reaction perhaps, but understandable nonetheless. I won't pretend that I'm not a little disappointed to know my home no longer exists. At least, if what we've been told is the truth. And I suppose I am glad to hear there are a lot of nice people around.

[Providing you're human you automatically have his love, though its not necessarily something you would want]

Anything you could tell me would be welcomed. So far all the information I've received has seemed somewhat vague.

Oh, disappointed is normal! It'd be sad if you didn't miss your home planet and the people from it! But, it might take a bit, but I'm sure you'll make friends here, if your friends from home aren't here right now.

[S - so human it hurts.]

Well, there's a lot of stuff about the ship! I'm more knowledgable about the social things around here~! Like, the best refugee run bar around here is The Devil's Nest, and the best refugee cafe is Class Act~! You should also get a Guide Bag if you can find one, because it'll significantly cut down on the number of times it will turn on without you wanting it to!

Oh! Oh! Be very careful - very very very careful - when you sign up for a job because sometimes you'll sign up for the wrong one, and you could end up being a pooper scooper or something if you're not careful!

I suppose it would be, though I won't pretend that disappointment is all I'm feeling. This is interesting, at the very least. And I'm glad to discover that humans have the capacity to go on surviving, even when the thing I have always believed life to depend on has been taken away. As for making friends, I'm sure I'll get to know people well enough, given some time.

[Then his love, she has it~ Though its her humanity he cares about, rather than her as an individual :|]

Ah well, I'm sure that information will come in useful. Thank you for the advice about the bag, I certainly wouldn't want to find myself being recorded at inappropriate moments!

[...he really wouldnn't...]

I've been informed about that, yes. I was told there was no known way to entirely avoid the occasional sign-up to a job I would not necessarily want, however. Do you know if this is true?

It depends on what you want to know.

Given that I'm entirely new to this situation, anything you could tell me would be of use.I've already been told a little. Mainly that I need to be careful when selecting jobs and that I ought to keep the guide covered to avoid unwanted recordings.

Though I suppose what I'm really interested in is the specifics of how I came to be here, the explanation I received was somewhat unsatisfactory.

S.S.Thor spaceship travels through space using a device called "Improbability drive"; if you check your guide you'll find a perfectly good explanation of what is. The side effects of the drive are "wormholes" - which you can also find a perfectly good explanation of what they are by checking the guide.

These wormholes bring people from planets that will soon be destroyed onto Thor, sparing them from sharing the same fate as their world. It means that, before your world blew up, a wormhole brought you to Thor.

I understood that part, though as far as I'm concerned it still seems incredibly vague. Though I suppose that is something I will just have to accept, if that is all the information available on the subject.

For example, is there any solid evidence that any of our worlds truly did blow up, or are we expected to simply take someone else's word for it?
