I can see how a lack of opposable thumbs would be a great inconvenience.

I am glad that you seem to be getting on with your roommates; mine were all quite a pleasant bunch if I remember correctly from my early days. Not many of them left around though, which is a great pity. Still, one adapts.

They most certainly did, I must say I am quite looking forward to stepping back into my role as a humble merchant. It will be quite the nostalgia trip.

And of course, should you be looking for any extra work every now and then I would be more than happy to give you a free shift. You are a most excellent worker after all, Abarai-san. It would be nice to know I could leave someone in charge who I could trust should I need to vacate the premises from time to time.

[And seeing as his hat is pulled low over his eyes, you won't see that twinge of regret that he still doesn't know about Tessai, Ururu and Jinta.]
