[[When the picture finally comes into focus, it's of Matt's characteristic goggles laying down in front of the screen for those who know them. They're quickly scooped up and the mirror that the device is unknowingly pointed at relays Matt turned to the side (Sorry Milly, still no eye-colour shot!) as though looking at something while straightening

But'cha do look a little flat-chested. Don't worry, some people've just gotta stuff it. You're not the only one.

'Cause that's how you made it sound.
[He scratches his head slowly.]
I think we're on two different pages here, back up. What exactly did you do back home?

Before that, though? I was a lot of things and did a lot of things. Fun things, scary things, adventurous things. [She'll never call what she did murdering. That's too ugly a word. Fiends are the embodiment of unrested dead souls. Putting them to peace was different from murder. It was also different to destroy faulty, rampaging machina.] But don't think I'm gonna spill all my secrets to you so early on, Matt. Where's the fun in that?

I hadn't thought of it but it was brought up to me by a friend today who scolded me for him not knowing who she is lol. I don't think the time lines match up, but that was a huge debate I'm not typing out here and instead just ....
Giving you this link lol.

So that's the kind of permission post you were talking about! And thank you, by the way, very convenient linkage, I must say.

Also thank you for filling this out! I'll gently work it into the conversation (it's kinda going in a way he'd sort of suspect he's not crazy for recognizing game chars)
....
I wish the eyebeam thing were true LOL

He's listening to you, Rikku, totally listening. But he's also still just staring a long time after you finish. It feels long to him at least, but really isn't all that long in real time.]]
Huh...
No, can't say revealing someone's secrets right away'd be any fun at all.
[[He tilts his head, just slightly, adjusting his goggles. If he had the balls to do it he'd take them off for just a moment, but being in public for one...]]
But basic questions never hurt anyone, right? Rikku, you don't uh ... Happen to have a last name do you? Or is it just Rikku

[She clears her throat with a small and obviously fake, oh boy, why did it have to be that obvious? Like, totally doing nothing for the awkward vibage, okay, okay, it's his turn to talk he'll say something when he's ready. Just sit. Straighter. Good. cough.]
[Finally. The silence may not have been long, but, as in your case, it felt so freaking drawn out. And if you can't tell - which, hopefully you can't because Rikku likes to think herself a master of the emotions and all things hiding them - she's relieved by your question. It's not even weird; totally something she can roll with. Easy.]Basic questions? Can't think of a time they've hurt anyone. Unless you're asking something like "Is it supposed to look like that?" or, y'know, pertaining to any of the other senses. But you're not. Clearly. So yeah, totally absent of harm ( ... )

But no.
Games... can't be brought to reality, they're not worlds they're fiction. They don't have a world to blow up because they're discs. It's either she's doing a really good cosplay or-- ..but no even the voice. The look is too good.
She's asking him back the same question. If he ever shows up here...]]
Yeauhp, Just Matt. I'm an orphan, never got a last name. Alright, next harmless question- Swimming. Yes or no? I love it but I'm horrible with holding my breath.
Reply
[Oh well, figuring he probably doesn't want to continue down that road, she let's it go. Suppressing and moving on, totally normal.]
Really? You can't hold your breath? Guess you'd make for a pretty dud of a Blitzball player. [Chuckles to herself. It was a rhetorical question. Rikku'd stopped filtering conversations of Spira references some time ago, so she's not holding any expectations of you actually understanding.] But yeah, I totally love swimming. I mean, I've been doing it my whole life, uh, like I was saying before about the underwater excavations and all. Swim before you can walk and put 'em to work~

It can't be.
He's almost certain now, there's too many coincidences that he can't see past for it not being her. Alright, he's going to play along just a little bit more. Just a bit.
Exciiiiiiiiiitiiiiiiiiing!]]
Yeah, I doubt highly I could play it. Gotta hold your breath for like a jillion minutes at once. Best I can do is maybe like, under a minute- it's a shame and a sin if you ask me.

[After all, the boy knew about Blitzball. Wait, he knew about Blitz? Like, for real? He wasn't just pulling her leg or playing along? Did he really actually know? This could very well be the first time on this ship someone hasn't passed over what she's said because they don't understand the connection. Hot dogs. If he did know, then is it possible the very emphasis that seemed so out of place is secretly a code word for the Sin? It had potential to make sense. Maybe he was testing her to see if she really could be from his same world.]
[But, he didn't dress like anyone would on Spira. Then again, Rikku's style morphed a little bit since coming here; it was all about what you could get your hands on. Maybe these were just Thor clothes he had on. If Matt was from her world... then she just had to ask. Rikku wasn't ( ... )

Blitzball? Yeauhp. I sure do. Game played under water by the various inhabitants of the world-- right on up to tournaments. Who doesn't know about them? Top teams.
[[He chuckles softly, and then flops back, kinda staring at her while he sits in his seat.]]
In fact, I know more than you think I may. Your secrets aren't very secret to me, Rikku. Most of 'em at least. Pid ouin calnad ec cyva fedr sa.
I can't believe it's really you.

[Rikku must have readjusted her position at least half a dozen times during your reply - which is saying something because, again, not that much time has gone by. She started by drawing her knees up to her chest, and then rocked all her weight forward to take lean against the desk. And when she could decidedly stay still no longer she bent her legs at the knees, tucking her feet under her bum, and resting all weight forward on her hands. Finally, exhausted by both the constant repositioning and the turning of mental gears, Rikku slouched back into the chair as a puddle of mesmerized goo.]
[Rud tysh. Even though the Babel fish automatically translates Matt's words, there's a short lag in the final delivery and she can tell he's speaking another language - her language - Pid ouin calnad ec cyva fedr sa. ( ... )

He nods his head as she asks her questions, smirking and smiling at the way she says all the juicy ones are hidden.]]
Those ones I'll get to eventually.
[[He's said it in a joking voice, he doesn't really mean he's going to start prying or anything. Just trying to lighten up the situation.]]
See, back home, people called me a geek for learning all the things I've learned-- but hell with 'em if it can bring that kind of a smile to your face.
