Just checking in on all the stuff I've missed out on ever since I escaped a few decades ago.

It's amazing what you can learn from just a few minutes of listening. This is stuff I never would have realized if I'd only gone by what I observed and knew from experience.

Yikes, they're bad! Glad I escaped decades ago. But none of the Catholics I still know believe any of that crap.

The trouble with the fish here is that the head's rotten to the core - but the tail-end, the actual priests and nuns people deal with on a daily basis, are a good deal better than their hierarchy. (I've said for years that anyone who does good in the name of any religion is already better than the religion they profess.)

It's the same illness espoused by the right-wing Republicans, personified in the Bush Administration. I call it "I'm always right, especially when I'm wrong."

I saw the bumper stickers advertising the radio station - and no doubt inspired by the same impetus that leads you to pick at a scab, I thought I'd drop in and see if this Catholicism bore any resemblance to the stuff I knew growing up.

...As Judy Tenuta would say sarcastically, "Sorry I left!"
