Quite welcome. (I have to remind myself that the racist asswipes who host deliberately-provocative "Draw Mohammed" cartoon contests need protection as well.)
We of the Fellowship had a mission grand To cast the Ring into the fire, as was the Council's command "But the wizard is satanic!" they cried; they did not understand They built a pyre to burn our books with fiery flames they fanned
Nice one! With your permission, I've edited that verse a bit to fit the tune and be a bit more specific about the attacks on the story:
We are the Tolkien Fellowship, and had a mission grand - To cast the Ring into the Fire by Council's firm command. "The story's anti-Christian!" say those who don't understand, And cast our books into the pyre just like a golden band.
I just saw this blog entry. Hope it's not too late to add to a verse.
The Grapes of Wrath is yet another member of the banned. The Joads, they sought a better life by driving 'cross this land. The bleakness of their lives denied, dismissed as propagand- a, but some truths won't be silenced just like some books won't stay banned!

My verse:
We of the Fellowship had a mission grand
To cast the Ring into the fire, as was the Council's command
"But the wizard is satanic!" they cried; they did not understand
They built a pyre to burn our books with fiery flames they fanned
(The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien)
