Title: In a Dangerous Time Author: gardnerhill Fandom: Sleepy Hollow Pairing: Ichabod/Abbie Rating: R Warning: Sex, PWP Word Count: 377 Summary: Abbie Mills learns some great stuff about the 1780s.
HOT. Yes, Abbie, those of the Georgian era were just a bit less inhibited than the Victorians were, and the Victorians only put a pretty façade over their naughty times. Research is fun!
Trust Ichabod to still sound like a scholar no matter the situation. I fear he was all the more sexy for it, though. ;) Oh, and EXCELLENT jab at modern-day men who whine that condoms don't let them feel anything. Much appreciated!
Hee hee, yeah - I've got collections of filthy tavern songs from Ichabod's time, and the notorious novels Les Liaisons Dangereuses and 120 Days of Sodom were set in that era also. Nothing inhibited about that time.
Any knowledge of the history of birth control would have you thanking God for current methods, as opposed to crocodile-dung pessaries (Egyptian), tortoise-shell diaphragms (Europe), and sheep-gut condoms (16th, 17th centuries). The original "rubbers" (made from rubber) were probably about a quarter-inch thick. Modern dudes are whining over nothing.
