Santa brings me wildflower seeds every year. I cast them in whatever area I don't have plans for, kinda water them for a bit, and then let nature have at it. Every year brings new joys.
Personally I regard tools as a very personal choice, I might like a spade from one manufacturer but not one from another - OK it's nerdy on paper, but look at the spades. I'm tall I like long handle, I don't like wide blade, I do like stainless. Then of course I only need one spade and I've got it (same for hoe, fork, shovel, rake, trowel etc). So, I guess for me vouchers would be useful. Secateurs never seem to last long so they would be useful even if the current pair still work OK (their day will come!)
Two things always like ate large (ca 6-inch) plant labels, what in UK is marketed as "soft tie" - a relatively new product, basically thin wire covered in quite thick soft rubbery/plastic like material. It does not damage the plant stem when tied to a cane.

A nice garden cart https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Carts-GOR200B-Pneumatic-600-Pound/dp/B0026RGNJ2/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1479434278&sr=1-3&keywords=garden+cart makes life so much easier. The dump action is worth a few extra bucks.
