unfortunately it isn't very flat, it is on about 3 'terraces' but my mother is getting the bottom part of it landscaped to flatten it for a fruit orchard (local cider apples!)

the Davidia involucrata is lovely... they're not all that common in my area (NW CT). Yours is a well established tree, they don't bloom right away IIRC (a decade I think?)

is this your garden? I love the archways, just stunning. How long have the plants been in place? As I said before, this is a well established plot.

It is my mother's garden and i seem to be undergardner! we've lived here since 1995 so it is well established :) the davidia is my mother's pride and joy and they take up to a decade to bloom but we got ours already mature. It is such a lovely garden as Devonshire (the county we live in) has a mild climate and is perfect for such things.

Wow. You have a gorgeous garden. From the text I can tell you're in the UK somewhere, but where?

Sigh. I've only been to the UK twice, but every garden I saw there (I don't remember names, just beauty) was gorgeous.

I think it is becuase we don't get extremes of weather usually so the plants can grow really well and generally overwinter healthily :)
where are you from then?
