Awesome... for a second there when I saw the US map I was disappointed... then I saw the "State or Province" drop down menu! I shall be perusing the Alberta selection :)

Here in the south I look for *Key* words like climbing, vigorous, spreading, fast growing...

In Il I could plant honeysuckle, which I love, and it has the grace to freeze back in the winter, here it's an invasive weed.

Trumpet honeysuckle? (Lonicera sempervirens.) Takes a lot longer to get going--mine took a year to really establish--but it's native and a lot less vicious than the Japanese stuff.

I'm not convinced that's peculiar to the South. I've been battling *some* kind of honeysuckle for at least four growing seasons, not counting this one, and I'm in northern Ohio, as far north as you can get, in fact, before you fall into Lake Erie.
No matter how fast or determinedly I work at chopping and pulling it all out, it's faster and more determined to grow back and stay here. 8-[
