We've had a strange winter here in the Greater NY area. Above average snow, below average temps. Until about 5 days ago. I think we've broken a record high today. Weird ( Read more... )

I started mine indoors also. What I'm doing is leaving the flats outside during the day and bringing them in at night. I intend to transplant at three weeks or so. They'll transplant fine, set them a little deeper than they were in the flat.

Ah, can't do that. I've got tomatoes and peppers in the tray. I do have separate organic-type trays. Perhaps I can put the spinach in them and move them around.

It's too late for this now, but for seeds that resent transplanting, I usually use peat pots, because the whole thing can be planted.
