http://4hwildlifestewards.org/pdfs/deer.pdf & http://fwp.mt.gov/wildthings/livingwwildlife/deer/deer_fence.html Both say 4-5' in both directions. Tall, and between them. Did a search for "double row deer fence" and got quite a few hits. You may be able to find something in there that might a bit better suited, space wise, to your garden.

Thanks so much. Now I feel silly; it wouldn't have taken me long, it's just that all I could think about was rushing outside to install an irrigation system. Much appreciated.

Sometimes I wish I could plant a separate garden just for the birds and animals but they wouldn't understand. I have birds, deer, bears, raccoons, rabbits, marmots, mice, voles, etc. so I think I will employ a combination of several methods: double fencing, electric, and netting.

*G* S'okay. You should see the fight I go through every year with the squirrels to try to get my morning glories/moonflowers growing.

*groan* Yeah, I forgot. We have squirrels AND chipmunks. They have eaten every single crocus and daffodil bulb I've ever planted. Not true. Some of them were just moved around. They don't seem to like tulips and alliums. I catch on eventually. :D
