NaNoWrimo 2021

I am considering attempting NaNoWriMo this year. I came up with a complete plot idea several weeks ago and I've not found the urge to do anything with it yet, as much as I would like to. I'm hoping that NaNo will help inspire that! I don't think I'll have the time and/or energy to do the full 50k word count, I'd be happy just to write a little

Good luck! I haven't done NaNo in years beause I always end up too guilty ("I should be writing right now" and if I'm writing, "I should be working right now!") and it makes it not fun. I could use the kick in the ass for my stories, but it ends up not being worth it for me.

I've tried to set aside specific time for writing when doing NaNo so I think that's helped me stave off the guilt. I do think it's important not to spend every waking moment in November hammering away at the word count, and having some free time outside of it! Writing still has to be fun, otherwise why do it? I have previously written when at work, although I had crappy jobs then, and it was just general writing, not for NaNo. Maybe Camp NaNo would be better for you, as it has less pressure.

Do it!!!! I'm going to be doing nano this year and one of my friends was like, "Let's start nano prep!!!" not long ago.

Have you started the prep? I went through some of the additional resources last night and I think I'm going to do some of the workbook for Week 1 tonight.

Do I have you added on NaNo?

I've started prepping a bit! I've been doing some plotting and already have ideas for short stories outside of the book I'm going to write. Ohhh I hope you have fun doing some of the workbook!

I'm not sure! I'm spilling_ink on nano. What's your username? This reminds me that I need to go on and declare I'm doing nano this year LOL.

I've already got my plot sorted, but I need to do some work on the characters. I have to get names for the main ones sorted in advance, otherwise I just spend ages musing over what to call them.

Your username seems familiar but I just checked the website and apparently I am Billy No Mates on there! My username is Wolfthorn. Oh, maybe the site was glitching, I do have you added on there already.

I am by no means a writer but I love reading about people doing NaNoWriMo.

The first time I did NaNo, I actually posted what I'd written that day. I think that got a better response because people could see what I'd actually done, rather than it just being a random word count or total.

How is it already the time of year to think about NaNo?! I haven't done it in a number of years so I won't be joining but I will be cheering you on from the sidelines!
