World Down Syndrome Day 2018

It was World Down Syndrome Day today and they encourage people to wear colourful mismatched socks to raise awareness. I tend to wear plain black socks for work although I wear colourful socks at home so I was very happy about that. I was rather less happy about wearing odd socks though, it was very difficult to do! It also took me ages to decide

I always wear mismatched socks, whether both are different colors or different patterns. Life is more fun that way. :)

That reminds me of a quote from Steve Wright: I went into this bar and sat down next to a pretty girl. She looked at me and said, "Hey, you have two different coloured socks on." I said, "Yeah, I know, but to me they're the same because I go by thickness."

I never could do that, just because I almost don't have any socks. And those I do have are matching.

All my socks are matching pairs too. But if you take one sock from one pair and one sock from a different pair, you get a mismatched pair!

I know, but I almost never wear socks. And if i do, it would be because I'm wearing boots and nobody would see them anyway.

Excellent choice... They look similar enough to be a pair, even though they're different. That definitely makes sense, to me! :D

The pattern is a similar layout and of course, they're both food related so that helps! They actually both had red on the toe, heel and the top so that also made them look like they matched but that's not visible in the picture.

I particularly like shoes that are bit different, and I really like the red stitching and matching red laces on these ones. They've got red soles too :)
