Not even a 3 day weekend here! Kid's school does not have the day off.

I thought the US just had the Friday as a holiday but not the Monday. Or is it one of those bizarre state-dependent things?

I think for schools it is a district dependent thing. My work has Good Friday off, but Husband works for the Kid's school district so he does not get a day off either.

That's confusing. So you get to have a nice quiet day off all by yourself? ;)

I have no plans other than to eat lots of chocolate and be as relaxed as possible, so that's great! :D

Happy Easter!

That sounds like a good plan. I hope there was plenty of both for you!

In Canada, the number of days off you get depends on your job. Government-related jobs are pretty much the only ones that would get 4 days. My grocery store, for example, is closed Friday and Sunday, but open Saturday and Monday. Most places would be open Monday, and some will be open on Friday (cinemas, chain pharmacies, etc.). Same for Easter Sunday -- things that are usually open all the time, e.g. even on xmas day, like cinemas and some pharmacies, etc. will still be open.

Easter tends to mark the start of the summer season here so places like theme parks and the like will have been closed over the winter and open for the Easter holidays. Shops are generally open but most will have Sunday trading hours. Restaurants will be open but all offices and everything else tends to be shut.
