I met up with hobbitblue at the weekend. I think she was concerned that I may be running out of reading material so she offered me some books that she was getting rid of. We have a similarish taste in books but even so, I didn't expect that I'd want very many of them. I got a couple though:

I've only read "Rosemary and Rue" of these ... and the Peter Brett one has been on my to read list for ... years???

I forgot to mention that two of them are non-fiction, the ones by Umberto Eco and Daniel Mendelsohn. Did you enjoy Rosemary and Rue? The Peter Brett one is quite hefty, it should keep me quiet for a while!

It was so-so ... it's been some time since I've read it but I know that there were some things that annoyed me though I can't remember anymore what it was. I haven't read the 2nd book so far ... ;-)

I was the same, couldn't remember why I didn't bother with the sequel, many of my friends reckon they're all excellent books though so maybe its just me. Well, me and you by the sounds of it :)

Oh, Eva Ibbotson? I used to read her books as a kid, although I'm not sure if I read that one--but I remember reading Dial-a-Ghost and The Secret of Platform 13. :)

They're pretty good to read as an adult, though I don't think I've read those two yet..

I'd never heard of the author before but the plot sounded really interesting. I'd lend it to you if you were closer!

I think it was about 10 more than I was expecting :P I should have known better really.

Its probably because last time I offered you books it was ones I'd not really enjoyed, picked up in various places, whereas this lot were from my "proper" books, hence better choices :)

I already was! I had about 45 books waiting to be read as it was, now I've got nearly 60! Every time I read a book off my pile, I seem to acquire two.

I'm a book collector so I have over 3 full bookshelves! Some I have read and some I have not. Plus I'm a super slow reader, but I'm okay with that. :)

I couldn't believe I took nearly half the ones she was getting rid of. I'm going to have to try and read them quickly, I have a terrible habit of getting books and never reading them.
