Your updates need updating

Last week I did something I've not done before, I pre-ordered a brand new game for my Playstation. I tend to buy either older games or pre-owned ones because they're far too expensive otherwise. As games are so pricey, if I get a crap one, it's not a great loss to have to trade it back in again. The game in question was the new Lego Marvel Read more... )

I haven't played much of it so far but it's certainly living up to expectations. That's the good thing about Lego games, you know what you're going to get and that they're going to be good.

Updates upon updates, isn't that ypical technology! Especially for games... I think a lot of times game developers release games before they're really ready, and then they need a ton of patches to make them actually work properly. Or so I hear, anyway!

I've never had a game that's needed a patch or update before, probably because I tend to get older ones that have all been fixed. I believe there are certain developers, like Ubisoft who do Assassins Creed, who set the release date so far forward that they have no chance of completing the game on time and they just release it as is rather than shift the date back. It's really silly.

What a hassle!! We only have the PS3 and have no intentions of updating to 4 for this very reason. That and it's no longer free to use the Playstation Network and we think that's stupid. So we'll have to hunt down older games for me if I want to play anything that's not in our collected stash. The husband and son have migrated to PC games only.

I don't have a PS4 either, just a PS3. I don't pay to use the Playstation Network though. There's still new games available for the PS3, so you shouldn't need to worry about being reduced to hunting down old games just yet.

I only play Saturday and Sunday mornings so I don't know if there's been any further updates. Hopefully not! I shouldn't think so anyway.
