I had practically a whole day out shopping yesterday with my mother. There were several different things that we needed to get from various places so we ended up combining them all into one massive trip. Some were slightly less fun than others ( Read more... )

Thats a busy day and ooh, hunting something specific in B&Q is a pain, and so is matching door handles, we had to change quite a few of ours last year and it was a real faff even with a handyman doing the actual work! The kettle that tells you its still warm sounds a little strange, be interested if that acutally works or if you just end up with less warm tea than anticipated (designed new and revolutionary kettles must be a challenge, once they've gone past making them superfast and lighting up in pretty colours, i mean ( ... )

They had such a huge range of door handles, it was quite ridiculous. It will be fun putting the new one on though. The old handle had 3 screws, 2 at the top and one at the bottom, while the new one has four. And the two at the top are just a little wider apart to the point that the new hole might just clip the edge of the old one so it might end up as one extra-large hole. I'm not sure how well that will hold up if so ( ... )

Urgh, have fun figuring it out then, i'm sure you'll sort it :)

Well i suppose not strange but given I only use water for tea (so it needs to be boiling) or cooking (ditto) its maybe a pointless addition for my purposes but handy for drinks made with less hot water, hadn't thought of that cos i don't drink 'em (coffee for me is a coffee machine job, Shirly drinks nescafe like it was water, hot or gone stone cold so not sure she'd notice... lol)

The words "what stationery section" springs to mind because that was quite disppointing when i went, a few kid-friendly notebooks and a limited section of biros, its why i was surprised to see the Herbin inks at all really..

I drink a lot of coffee (although not Nescafe because it's disgusting in both taste and morals) so the kettle's quite handy in that respect. I have a proper coffee machine although I only tend to use that at the weekend or for a special treat. Eugh, cold coffee is horrible. I wish I liked it because then I could have iced coffee from a coffee shop in the summer.

Good luck fixing the door handle ... I'd like to have new ones on all my doors but ... nope, thanks. As long as they still work ...

Boo at not getting the ink ... have you tried Amazon yet? Amazon Germany has them as I mentioned before.

I think I will need lots of luck, I've not really done much in the way of DIY stuffs before!

I was particularly checking Hobbycraft because the ink was only £2.15 there and I've not seen it anywhere else that cheap! It's £4.25 on Amazon which is ridiculous.
