Top Surgery anniversary

Mar 28, 2008 20:16

Today marks two years since I had top surgery. I can't believe that it's been two years already. My chest looks great, the scars have faded so much and in some places they're not visible at all. There's sensation over a good percentage of it, even on some parts of my scars though that feels mostly tickly, and my nipples can feel pressure and ( Read more... )

A went with me when I had to have surgery--pretty early on in our relationship as well. I'm so glad that you have a wonderful rock to be there for you as well. :)

I'd known Michael for two years at that point but only through chatting on AIM every day, we'd never met. He was my first and only choice when it came to picking someone to be my nurse, especially as not only did I trust him but he'd also had the same surgery from the same surgeon which was a big factor. He had some idea of what to expect. When I flew out to San Francisco, I didn't expect to get a boyfriend there as well as surgery! For a long time after, our saying was that a mark of true love was disposing of bodily fluids ;)

It was the nurse who came up with it, and I'm still milking it. ;) Nathaniel was coming to after surgery and was quite groggy, so I was talking to him while he woke up, and I informed him that I was looking forward to measuring and disposing of his bodily fluids. The nurse laughed and said 'That's love.' We weren't even really dating yet! But it didn't really feel like the time or the place to correct her and explain, and it turned out to be just as well anyway!

Actually, I have a new hot-making t-shirt in mind! Michael makes custom t-shirts and he's going to help me make one when I'm there. It's going to have this picture on it. It'll be a lot of fun making it, I'm sure!
