My dad (whose mother is Hungarian and grew up in Hungary) likes to quip that the proper Hungarian way to cook is to not have any of the ingredients. With that in mind, I present you with my recipe for onion soup, made entirely out of whatever crap I had lying around the kitchen that I was pretty sure wasn't rotten. I am proud of myself.
