I think the groups I play in tend to say thank-you to the GM at the end of each game. This was greatly helped by the large number of one-offs run with roughly the same group as playtests for cons, I think. If you don't always have the same person running, it's harder to take them for granted (though not impossible).

I don't recall any scrapbooks or presents for GMs, but I could be mistaken...

Svend made a website of a Changeling game Matt ran, pretty much out of the blue. I think anytime players do that sort of thing they are kind of thanking the game and the GM.

I always try to thank my players at the end of a session, because I think the players are what make the games I run enjoyable. If I have players who are only playing extras they always get a big thank you because I couldn't have run the session without them.

It is interesting how deep the love for your Slayers East game is. A lot of it probably comes from the environment and the supportive play of all the players, mix that in with your GM skillz and the fact that this was a Buffy RPG before there were Buffy RPGs and you've got a winning formula.

Also perhaps the goal of having a predominate female cast (one of them a scrapbooker) led to a strongly different feeling throughout the game. It would be interesting to run a different game with a similar (or the same) group and see what transpires.
